The Centre for Turkey Studies (CEFTUS) is pleased to invite you to a public forum with Mr Erdogan Aydin, a Writer and National Delegate of Human Rights Association of Turkey on 27 March 2017.

A referendum on the proposed changes to Turkey’s constitution will take place on 16th April 2017. The changes proposed would significantly alter the structure of Turkey’s government and so the vote has big implications for Turkey’s future. Mr Erdogan Aydin who analyses Turkey’s foreign and domestic politics with a focus on alternative historiography in his writings will share his perspective on the upcoming referendum.

Speaker Biography
Erdogan Aydın is an eminent writer who focuses on alternative historiography. He wrote his first book ‘The Truth of Islam’ and won The Turan Dursun Best Research Award 1992. He writes columns in national Turkish newspapers. Currently, he writes political analyses on foreign relations and domestic issues of Turkey on T24 internet news site. He is also a well known TV commentator. He teaches history, Middle Eastern studies and domestic politics of Turkey at Ozgur University which is an independent, alternative education platform.
Erdogan Aydın is a national delegate of Human Rights Association of Turkey and Coordination Board Member of Union for Democracy (DIB: Demokrasi Icin Birlik) in Turkey that is established by intellectuals and advocates democratisation reforms in Turkey.
